In conjunction of International Beauty Expo, we are proud to present the inaugural of IBE Hairdresser Awards 2008. This competition will emerge as a platform to allow hairdresser practitioners to challenge themselves in hairdressing skills and exchanging ideas and creativity under one-roof.
IBE Hairdresser Awards aspire to produce a new breathe of talented hairdressers who are capable in pushing the boundaries of hairdressing and emerging as trendsetter in this competitive industry. There are two categories for this competition: Commercial Style and Avant Garde. All hair creations will solely be judged by a panel of reputable judges based on the following criteria such as overall creative approach, art composition, technical skill and etc. Last but not least, the fabulous cash and product prizes worth more than RM20, 000, which sponsored by Elite Expo Sdn Bhd and Hairizon Hub Sdn Bhd, is definitely another highlights of the competition.
International Nail Art Competition
Presented by BMI Beautymart International Pte Ltd (Booth No: F01)
Nail Art has become a new beauty trend setting where nail art lovers from local and overseas may gather around for this benign competition. Well known professional nail art judges from Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, USA, Thailand and China will appear on this challenging competition, in order to select the right candidates for various awards titles.
“Multi Cultural Charisma” Make-up Competition
Presented by Sense & Style Beauty Academy (Booth No: C03)
This annual competition will be participated by all colour design practitioners include students and professionals. Besides applying normal face make-up for student category, candidates from professional category are to challenge themselves on body colour make-up. You may delight on the awesome modern body make-up, which would be burned into our minds to gasp at the bare skin.

International Beauty Expo 2007 A Resounding Success
The first ever health and beauty expo held in KLCC Convention Centre has ended with success!
With more than 200 local and international exhibitor booths located across the span of 52,014ft² of hall 1 and 2 at KLCC Convention Centre from 21 – 24 June 2007, IBE 2007 created a storm by bringing the local and international exhibition industry to the next level with its first ever specially designed thematic pavilions. The themed pavilion concept was created and implemented by The Organiser to provide buyers and visitors with a better and more effective sourcing platform to locate their resources without losing their track at the exhibition venue. The five specially themed pavilions are divided into: Beauty, Cosmetic & Skincare, Spa & Wellness, Health & Nutrition, Weight Management, and Hair & Nail Zone.
IBE 2007 was indeed a great success with proven testimonials from valued supporting partners, exhibitors and buyers. Commenting on the fair was Mr. Edward Wong, President of Day Spa Association – Asian Chapter. “I’m very impressed with IBE 2007, the overall quality of the exhibition; management and marketing are well done.” Nevertheless, sentiment remarks were also received from exhibitors both locally and internationally. “The result is very encouraging and we will not hesitate to join next year’s IBE. We don’t find any reason why we will not repeat our participation”, stated Mr. K.K Loh, Managing Director of Loyo Corp. Sdn Bhd.
For Mr. Thomas Leung, Sales and Marketing Leader of HK Branding Int’l Ltd, “Our purpose of participating in this exhibition is to source for opportunities to cooperate with wholesaler and retailer for our products, and we are pleased to find many potential companies who have shown interest.” On the other hand, Ms. Lee Tee Wee, Product Manager of Panasonic Malaysia finds IBE to be the right platform to inform and educate traders and public on Panasonic’s health and beauty range products.
Apart from local exhibitors, IBE 2007’s participants from other countries included Belgium, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Philippines, Taiwan and India. A total of 18,635 buyers and visitors have thronged to the 4-day event, with patrons coming from as far as East Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Australia and even United Kingdom.
In part, IBE 2007’s stage show lineups have also highlighted many talented individuals through the various hair shows and complete makeover competitions. Audiences were receptive towards the numerous talks and seminars that have shed a light to many with the latest offerings on high-end products, as well as wellness tips from spa and beauty expertise. At the end of the day, IBE 2007 also ensured that a handful of visitors went home becoming winners through the ‘Early Bird’ Lucky Draw and ‘Spend & Win’ Lucky Draw competitions.
Riding on IBE 2007’s wave of success, many existing exhibitors already secured their booths for next year’s show. More than 70% of participating exhibitors have signed up for the “Early Bird Discount Package” before the show ended.
IBE 2008, which is set to kick off on 11 – 14 July 2008 looks set to grow and prosper indefinitely – both in quality and size! As the saying goes, ‘Impressive Beyond Expectation’ has already embarked on a steadfast journey to a grand success.

Soft Launch of International Beauty Expo 2007 (IBE)
Soft Launch of International Beauty Expo 2007 (IBE) was officially conducted at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on the 3rd April 2007. The event was presiding by Mr. Johnson Lim, Project Director of Elite Expo Sdn Bhd jointly with supporting partner Mr. Edward Wong, President of The Day Spa Association Asian Chapter. The event received overwhelming sentiment from fellow exhibitors and buyers who thronged to the event. Added vivacity to the launching was the appearance of Ms Petty Ng, General Manager of Wella Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the Bronze Sponsor of IBE 2007; Mr. Anthony Atwood and Mr. Chan Seng Fong from the Embassy of Belgium and Ms Shen Ho from Austrade.
The launching started with speech delivered by Mr. Johnson Lim and Mr. Edward Wong then proceeded to a video presentation with live testimonial from exhibitors and buyers. According to Mr. Johnson Lim, the recent ruling by the Health Ministry of M’sia to exempt registration of cosmetics manufactured or marketed by Asean countries from next year onwards will help the beauty industry grow tremendously. Hence, IBE has come in the right time to push further the development of beauty industry. Stated by Mr. Edward Wong, President of The Day Spa Association Asian Chapter, “I am impresses by the magnitude of the IBE 2007 as well as the choice of location for the exhibition. The IBE 2007’s comprehensive coverage of the different sectors of the Spa and Beauty industry presents a wide arena for business development”. Adding excitement to this event was the product demonstration by Life Senses Aesthetic Spa, Notation Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd and Rustic Nirvana Sdn Bhd.
During the launching, exhibitors and buyers were pampered with free services provided by sponsors. Commenting by Life Senses Aesthetic Spa, guests experienced the ‘Drena Lift Therapy’ with a combination hand skills and advanced technology to help combat the negative energy in their bodies. Followed by ‘Magical Nail Art Printer’ services sponsored by Notation Marketing (M) Bhd which is a new technology that creates amazing designs for customers and storing up to thousands of images. Lastly, Rustic Nirvana introduced ‘Chopstick Oriental Healing Massage’ and ‘Rose Quartz Crystal Facial’ to all guests for some rejuvenating moments.
The event continued with Lucky Draw for exhibitors, 5 booths were given away to valued exhibitors who supported and confirmed their participation at IBE 2007. The winners are Life Senses Aesthetic Spa, Synation Sdn Bhd, Ginseng Biotech, Miko Hairstudio & Academy and JBP-SEA (M) Sdn Bhd. The launching adjourned with lunch provided by the Organiser.
The actual exhibition will be taking place at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre as well, from 21 – 24 June 2007. It will be open for trade visitors only on the first 2 days, and the following days will be open for both trade and public visitors. Visitors can anticipate for a wide range of beauty and health products and services originated from both local and international.
